ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarship: the application documents

An ACYLS application needs the 11 documents in section IV (List of Application Documents) of the Guidebook to the ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarship. The China Scholarship Council (Campus China) publishes the guidebook.

The 11 documents
Section IV lists these items:

Section IV item 9 states the physical examination result is valid for only 6 months, and incomplete forms — or forms missing the attending physician's signature, the hospital's official stamp, or a sealed photograph — are invalid. Section IV item 11 states the certificate is usually issued within 6 months before the submission date.
How to submit
Section 5 (Application Procedures) gives three steps:
- Complete the online application in CGSIS (Chinese Government Scholarship Information System) at campuschina.org. Online submission is compulsory for every applicant.
- Prepare the documents in section IV and upload all of them to the online system. Submit hard copies of the application form and relevant documents to the ACYLS national focal points or AUN Secretariat before the deadline.
- The China Scholarship Council processes only applications recommended by the Joint Committee of the ACYLS. Applications not on the list are not considered.
Section 3 (When & Where to Apply) states applicants submit to the ACYLS national focal point of their home country before the deadline. Faculty and staff from ASEAN universities applying through AUN submit to the AUN Secretariat before the deadline. The application generally opens from January to March each year; the current year's deadline must be consulted directly with the ACYLS national focal points or AUN Secretariat.
The online application in CGSIS
Section V (Instructions for CGSIS) gives the steps:
- Visit campuschina.org, click "Scholarship Application for Students", register an account, and log in.
- Click "Edit Personal Details" and fill in all personal details, then save.
- Choose Program Category "Type A".
- Enter Agency Number 0025.
- Enter application information, upload supporting documents, and click "Submit".
- After submission, changes to personal details and application information cannot be made. Before processing authorities handle it, you may click "Withdraw", re-edit, and submit a second time; once processed, it cannot be withdrawn.
- Click "Print the Application Form" and download it.
- Submit the application under the requirements of the dispatching authorities.
Section V step 8 states the China Scholarship Council never entrusts any individual or intermediary agent to process applications, and applicants should submit directly through official dispatching authorities. Section V notes: an application with an incorrect Agency Number will not be processed; use Firefox or Internet Explorer 11.0; fill all information in Chinese or English.

Do I need the physical examination form if I stay less than six months?
Section IV item 9 requires the Foreigner Physical Examination Form only for applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months.
Where do I upload my CV?
Section IV item 10 states the resume or CV is uploaded to "Other Supporting Documents" in CGSIS.
Which program category and agency number do I use?
Section V step 3 requires Program Category "Type A" and step 4 sets Agency Number 0025.
